Description
Course Description:
Prevailing accounting and financial reporting standards, such as PFRS 9, as well as securities regulations and prudential banking guidelines require the measurement of financial instruments such as debt and equity securities at fair market value. Fair value is also an important assessment tool to quantify financial risks for purposes of prudent risk management.
It is therefore critical that banking professionals possess strong working knowledge and reasonable proficiency in the basics of valuing financial instruments.
This program combines discussions on theories and concepts on financial instrument valuation with practical applications and illustrations of valuation approaches and techniques, which participants may learn from as part of their development as banking professionals in the Philippines.
